BASICS OVERVIEW

Hours: 8:00 am to 4:30 pm daily

Location: Midwest Montessori Demonstration School, 926 Noyes Street, Evanston, IL 60201

The Basics class will provide participants with an introduction to the key ideas of the Montessori teaching method.

SYLLABUS

A. Introduction to the unique features of the Montessori classroom environment
B. Overview of the major learning areas in Montessori, identification of the basic equipment and materials and presentation of essential exercises in:
     a) Practical Life
     b) Sensorial
     c) Mathematics
     d) Language
     e) Classroom management, ground rules, discipline, respect

BASICS CLASS INSTRUCTORS

Midwest Montessori Teacher Training Center will use only staff members with many years of experience in training and teaching the Montessori Method and Philosophy.
