Elementary I: Schedule
ELEMENTARY BASICS
(Intro. to Early Childhood)
One week before Elementary Course begins:
June 16 - 20, 2008
Required for students who do not have Early Childhood Montessori certification.
8:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m Mon. - Thurs. and Fri. 8:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
Introduction of Early Childhood Montessori curriculum and philosophy.
Please Note:
There is an extra fee of $250.00 for this one week introduction course in addition to the total tuition fee of $5700.00.
Phase I
First Summer Session.
June 23 - August 1, 2008.
Six week summer session.
8:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. Mon. - Thurs. and Fri. 8:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
Lecture-demonstrations of the Montessori Elementary curriculum and philosophy.
Phase II
First Year Internship, Institute, and Classroom Consultations.
School year 2008 - 2009
First Internship year for Elementary I (6 through 9).*
One three day institute in the fall of the first internship year.
Three visits by an MMTTC approved consultant over the two year internship.
*Securing an internship site is the responsibility of the student. MMTTC will offer assistance, if possible. Each internship site must agree to the terms of MMTTC and the American Montessori Society.
Phase III
Student Performance and Review
Two weeks: June 15 - June 26, 2009
Two week Second Summer Session.
8:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. Mon. - Thurs. and Fri. 8:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
Student presentations of Montessori lessons, review of philosophy, classroom management.
Optional - 5 weeks of the Elementary II curriculum which will lead to an Elementary I-II certification (children ages 6 through 12 years).
Phase IV
Second Year Internship, Institute and Classroom Consultations.
School year 2009 - 2010
Second Internship year for Elementary.
One three day institute in the spring of the second internship year.
Two visits by an MMTTC approved consultant.
